Are you the Freelance IT Technical Delivery Manager we are looking for?

For one of our clients operating in the financial industry, we are looking for an IT Technical Delivery Manager.
You will be responsible for driving key IT projects within the program from start to finish, ensuring Bank delivers new and enhanced functionality to enable growth. Also minimizing risk and adhering to regulatory requirements, quality and timely delivery of the project will be your responsibility.

Within this role you will act as a conduit between business stakeholders and the internal IT team.
Both teams will rely on your creative and proactive approach towards problem solving. With your technical leadership you will assist across the project team.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the Project Management of multiple significant IT change initiatives under the guidance of Head of IT Delivery.
  • Planning and execution of project end to end including defining the scope, allocating resources, setting deadlines, establishing communication plan, formulating implementation and migration plan / strategy.
  • Monitor and report every stage of the project, initiating corrective action where appropriate, to ensure deliverables are on schedule and adhere to deadlines.
  • Determine, monitor, review and manage projects. Based on the associated operational costs, resources, risks and issues.
  • Leading the team to drive solve issues, document the root cause, and ensures all required policies, process and procedures are followed during the course of the project.
  • Set attainable goals to team members and provide guidance to team members to encourage work productivity.
  • Proactively manage projects to ensure they adhere to IT governance, project lifecycle, finance processes and requirements. For both the organizational standards and customers needs.
  • Assess continuously whether projects continue to meet business objectives and recommending changes where appropriate to ensure that projects are managed to realize business benefit, or cancelled when appropriate.
  • Provides input to the program manager and executes initiatives to help drive delivery and reporting maturity as well as refine processes in the spirit of continuous service improvement.
  • Facilitating the necessary reports and transparent communication on status updates / progress during the project lifecycle.
  • Work on budgeting process for upcoming projects in next financial year.
  • Act as a Scrum Master and previous experience of doing it to contribute to agile software development projects.

Competences

  • Excellent understanding of project management techniques and best practices.
  • Working experience in traditional and Agile / Scrum methodologies.
  • Proven experience as Scrum Master.
  • Excellent understanding and experience in software development projects and SDLC including requirements gathering, analysis and design, development tools and technologies, release, testing, deployment management and SDLC best practices.
  • Good experience and understanding on financial regulatory reporting requirements for Banks.
  • Experience of maintaining projects within stringent finance and governance boundaries.
  • Good experience and understanding on data warehouse concepts, relational database, Microsoft SQL services and technologies.
  • In-depth understanding of project cost management.
  • Ability to make sense of complex situations and rapidly prioritize issues to take effective decisions or corrective actions.
  • Ability to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
  • Previous experience with Jira is a plus.

Education / Qualifications

  • University Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Current PMP or Prince II Practitioner (or equivalent).
  • Professional Scrum Master Certification is a plus.
